LUNA The Shadow Dust

Game short description:

A charming hand-animated puzzle adventure without written dialogue featuring dual character control. Storytelling in beautiful 2D cinematics.

Game long description:

Behind the veil of reality, lies an enchanted world. When the world lost its balance, it fell upon a boy to take on an unexpected journey. Until the moon rises again, the order of the world will not be restored. One cannot go back in time to correct his mistake. Whatever happened is irreversible…or is it?

- To light a candle is to cast a shadow. -

Luna: The Shadow Dust is a picture book in motion. It is the dream-like quest of a young boy who must restore light and balance to an enchanted world. Come experience the hand-drawn graphics, clever puzzles, and haunting music of this indie gem.

Together with our main character and his mystery friend, players will experience a unique adventure that requires both courage and determination. Enter the ancient tower that stands at the edge of the world, help the protagonist bring back his lost memories and find out the darkest secret beyond the tower itself.

Game Type

  • Single player

  • Wordless story driven point & click adventure puzzle game

Game Key Feature

  • Traditional frame by frame character animation
12 frames per second, 3 layers per frame. Over 250 animations and 20 minutes of cinematics. A nostalgic and time-consuming process - but really worth the challenge for a small indie team of four.

  • Single player mode with dual character control
Solve puzzles from different perspectives. Discover a story of true courage with two playable characters drawn together through an inseparable bond.

  • Think outside of the box
Spark your imagination and solve a wide variety of puzzles, presented in gorgeous hand-drawn environments. Puzzles work standalone, requiring no 'hidden items' or player backtracking.

  • LESS reading, MORE cinematics
We replaced a dialogue system with a series of beautifully hand-animated cinematics telling a mysterious story.

  • Engaging Original Soundtrack
Our composer created an original soundtrack, designed to immerse the player in the emotional highs and lows of the story, kindling goose-bumps along the journey.

Press & Reviews

“Chiaroscuro is one of my favourite words, so what luck that upcoming point and click adventure game Luna The Shadow Dust has such a focus on light and shadows, giving me a tangential excuse to use it.”
Rock, Paper, Shotgun

“The hand-drawn art is simply superb.”
A Most Agreeable Pastime

“Its staggering art, complemented by its loftily luminescent music”
Gamepilgrim.com

“ The amazing, hand-drawn artwork — inefficiently, but so remarkably gliding and flowing, almost hypnotic.”
BigBossBattle.com

“ There are few games as engrossing as well-made point &click puzzle adventures—nothing catches my eye quite like the intersection of intellectual challenge and stellar artwork .”
